Biography

Nasiru Abdus-Salam is a distinguished academic and Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin. With a career spanning several decades, he has made significant contributions to academia having to his credit over 80 publications in renowned international outlets. He has supervised over 50 graduates (MSc and PhD) theses, with several candidates currently under his guidance. He is a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN) and a member of various academic and professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON). He has held key leadership positions, including Head, Department of Chemistry and Director, GNS Division, Unilorin as well as Dean, Faculty of Science, Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State. He currently doubles as the Director of the Central Research Laboratories at the University of Ilorin, and Chief Imam, University of Ilorin Muslim Community.
