Undergraduate Teaching
Basic and General Environmental and Analytical Chemistry Courses: Theses courses include topics such as Chemical composition of the atmosphere and atmospheric reactions, Water chemistry, including natural water systems and water pollution, Soil chemistry and the fate of pollutants in soils,Environmental toxicology and waste management, Sustainable chemistry and green technologies. Also various fundamental analytical techniques used to analyze environmental samples, emphasizing both theory and practical laboratory skills. Other topics are; Principles of spectroscopy (UV-Vis, IR, atomic absorption), Chromatographic techniques (GC, HPLC) for environmental analysis, Electrochemical methods (potentiometry, voltammetry), Sampling and sample preparation for environmental matrices, Quality control and assurance in environmental analysis
Postgraduate Teaching
Advanced Environmental and Analytical Chemistry Techniques: These courses explores cutting-edge analytical methods used in environmental monitoring and research, with a focus on emerging technologies and their applications. Topics Covered includes Mass spectrometry (MS) techniques, including GC-MS and LC-MS for trace analysis; Advanced spectroscopic methods (NMR, X-ray fluorescence) for environmental samples; Electrochemical sensors for real-time environmental monitoring; Isotope analysis for environmental tracing and dating; Data interpretation and chemometrics in environmental analysis. Also Environmental Monitoring and Assessment courses focusing on the design, implementation, and evaluation of environmental monitoring programs, emphasizing regulatory compliance and data-driven decision-making. Topics includes Environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks; Design of monitoring programs for air, water, and soil quality; Risk assessment and management in environmental contexts; Statistical analysis and modeling of environmental data; Case studies on remediation and sustainable environmental management. Research Supervision of MSc and PhD students on research projects related to environmental and analytical chemistry includes Development of novel sensors for detecting environmental pollutants; Sustainable waste management and remediation techniques; Analysis of emerging contaminants in environmental systems, Application of green chemistry principles in industrial processes.
