Research Interest
The research focus of Prof. S.O. Owalude is in the field of Physical Chemistry (Catalysis), He has ventured into studies of the kinetics and mechanism of catalyzed reactions; Synthesis, characterization, and catalytic studies of catalytically transition metal complexes and porous metal-organic framework (MOFs) materials. Some of the catalytic reactions include the study of homogeneously catalyzed transfer hydrogenation reactions and environmental remediation using MOFs as adsorbents for drug contaminants of water bodies. The methodologies follow conscientious experimental procedures that involve the use of several analytical and spectroscopic instruments including single crystal X-ray crystallography.
